Yesper Portable Jump Packs Versus NoCo, NEXPOW?

Newest Portable Boost Pack, Yesper Selling on Amazon

One of my favorite automotive tools to review are portable jump starters because the convenience of buying one can not be over-stated. Whether it’s for use in the auto repair shop, to stick under the back seat or to keep in a backpack to charge your cell phone, tablet or laptop- you will never find a scenario where having a relatively small, portable power source is a bad thing.

I’ve looked at and reviewed the leading brand NoCo extensively and I have compared it to NEXPOW which gained popularity on Amazon as well. I’ve done battery booster pack reviews on normal jump starters like the JNC from jump-n-carry and traditional 12V battery chargers like the NoCo Genius as well. Now I see another line of portable boost packs gaining popularity on Amazon– the YESPER brand.

In this post, I’m going to look at some key features of the YESPER jump starters to try to determine a few things. Are these YESPER boost packs comparable to NoCo or NEXPOW? Are they a quality jump starter or another junk knock off? What are actual user reviews saying? Is there anything that sets the YESPER portable jump pack apart from other brands on Amazon?

What Features do Yesper Jump Starters Have?

If YESPER jump starters have any chance of beating out popular brands like NoCo, they are going to have to go above and beyond to simply be better or cost less while retaining the same quality as NoCo or even NEXPOW jump packs.

In my first look at the YESPER Armor portable jump pack I could see that they appeared to be designed well and user-friendly. This was the case for it’s other line, the Yesper Speed portable jump pack as well.

Does the high-tech design translate to high-quality features though? What can the YESPER portable jump starter do?

YESPER Armor Pro Technical Specs

  • Armor Pro Can jump batteries at -40º thanks to its “pre-heat technology”
  • Can start a car with 100% fully drained battery.
  • Up to 4,120 peak cranking amps (largest version)
  • 20,000 mAh battery that can be used as a power bank to charge cell phones, tablets etc.
  • 100W USB fast-charging from 0-100% in 45 minutes.
  • Has reverse polarity protection to prevent hooking up incorrectly.

What’s Good About YESPER boost packs?

As I said early on, if these YESPER jump starters are going to compare to or be better than NoCo, the Armor Pro or Speed portable battery charging tools have to add some sort of benefit.

YESPER’s Pre-Heat Technology is it’s Distinguishing Factor

Surprising enough to me, YESPER actually delivers with it’s pre-heat technology that allows it to jump start cars in extremely cold weather. The company claims as low as -40 degrees. Jump starting a car in low temperatures is notoriously hard and even NoCo has had issues with cold weather jump starting in my experience.

I live in a part of the world that sees at least five days of -20 to -40 degree weather. Having a jump starter for days like that would be immensely useful.

Adding a pre-heat technology in a jump starter is a huge benefit for YESPER’s line of portable products. Having the ability to start a dead battery in the dead of winter is enough reason to buy a YESPER portable jump starter itself in my opinion.

How Much are YESPER Jump Starters?

Obviously a huge factor in deciding which portable jump starter to buy is the price relative to other brands on the market. With that being said, it’s important to consider how much a YESPER jump starter costs versus a NoCo or even a NEXPOW. Also, is YESPER’s pre-heat technology enough to pay any kind of premium for its products?

That last question is definitely worth asking, but it’s actually irrelevant because YESPER jump packs are priced pretty well compared to its competitors in NoCo, NEXPOW and especially Snap-On.

How are YESPER Portable Jump Pack Reviews?

It’s not enough to rely solely on what the manufacturer of a product tells you. In my experience, it’s real-life actual user reviews of YESPER’s portable jump starters that is going to tell me if it’s worth buying.

After searching vigorously for reviews on the YESPER Speed and Armor Pro lines of portable jump packs, I came away with a good idea how good the portable jump starters are versus NoCo and other competing brands.

According to users on Wal-Mart, YESPER jump starters earn a 4.8 out of 5 star rating. That’s compared to a slightly lower but still highly respectable 4.7 out of 5 on Amazon. Here are some of the best and worst reviews I could find on the YESPER Speed and Armor Pro portable jump starters.

Amazon Reviews

Got this as back up and sure enough the cold temps were too much for my old truck battery. This thing had no issues starting the V8 repeatedly.- Anton Zavulko (Verified Buyer)

Only 4% of the user-reviews on Amazon were a one-star and they all were due to a defective unit, which I’m sure Amazon made right quickly. Here’s an example.

Useless & dead on arrival. No voltage detected after charging for 3 days.-Henry Tun (verified buyer)

Obviously you never want to see that a buyer received a defective unit, but it’s something every electrical tool deals with occasionally. In the case of defective YESPER jump starters the percentage of buyers was very small and that’s encouraging. What if you do get a defect though, is there a warranty on YESPER portable jump starters?

YESPER Portable Jump Pack Warranty

According to the warranty and refund page on YESPER’s website, the company does offer a two-year warranty as well as a 30-day refund policy saying this-

YESPER warrants to the original consumer purchaser that the YESPER product will be free from defects in workmanship and material under normal consumer use during the applicable warranty period identified in the ‘Warranty Period’ section below, subject to the exclusions set forth below.- YESPER Jump Starter Warranty Page

Seeing that YESPER does in fact offer a warranty to the original purchaser is encouraging, but another aspect to consider is what is the warranty procedure and is it easy to return a jump pack sold by YESPER?

What’s the YESPER Warranty Process?

In order to return a YESPER jump starter for warranty, the customer must send an email to the address provided on the warranty page linked above. To make the warranty as easy as possible, include photos or videos as well as a description of what’s wrong with your YESPER jump starter in the e-mail.

Once the company receives your e-mail and processes it they will reach out to you with further instructions on how to replace the broken YESPER jump starter.

Conclusion- Is YESPER Worth Buying?

In order to determine if any product is worth buying, my goal is to provide you guys with as much information as possible. Price, quality and warranty are always a major part of the discussion. Unfortunately I haven’t grown to the point of companies sending me demo products yet, so instead I put in the hard work and I find you the answers wherever I can.

I would recommend one of these YESPER portable jump starters based on the pre-heat technology and the price point alone. I don’t think you’re going to find a better quality car jump pack for the price to buy a YESPER Armor Pro or Speed portable car booster.
