One thing that some times gets overlooked though is the fact that pry bars (like all tools) are not created equal.
I have used some of the cheapest sets like those sold by Harbor Freight branded Pittsburgh and I’ve also used the most expensive pry bar sets in the Snap-On hard handles. One thing is certain, the two are not even comparable in terms of quality and of course they wouldn’t be given the difference in price of a Pittsburgh pry bar versus Snap-On.
Now a new top of the line pry bar set from Milwaukee has emerged and has the potential to be at least equivalent to Snap-On and possibly even better in terms of price, quality and warranty. In this post, I’m going to tell you everything you need to know about the Milwaukee 48-22-9214 pry bar set with the hope of helping you decide whether it is worth buying.

Snap-On’s leading pry bar sets are so popular because they are made out of steel that is strong enough to “pry” even the most stuck items apart whether it be a ball-joint, wheel bearing, strut or drive shaft.
According to the manufacturers specifications, the Milwaukee pry bar set is made of a solid-steel core and uses an “I-Beam” design they claim to be 40% stronger than “the competition”. Whether that competition is Husky, Matco or Snap-On is for us to decide.
How Long are Milwaukee’s Pry Bars?
Milwaukee’s 48-22-9214 4-piece set comes in 8”, 12”, 18” and a 24-inch respectable size pry bar that should handle anything you throw it at. For comparisons sake, I bought a 36-inch Snap-On pry bar a couple years ago and the one piece alone cost me almost $400. Tekton sells a 36” pry bar on Amazon also which is a beast and costs less than $40. The entire Milwaukee pry bar set can be bought for under $75 in most places.
It’s also worth noting that the Milwaukee set of pry bars are strike-able so they have a metal cap on the end that allows users to hit them with a hammer in the case of an extremely stuck part. Snap-On’s pry bar sets are also strike-able, so the two do compare well in that aspect.
Users on Amazon (Verified Buyers) seemed to approve of the quality of the Milwaukee brand pry bar set, saying things like “Solid and a good name brand” when describing their review of the tools.

As always, one of the most important aspects of a tool is what kind of warranty it has. When it comes to Milwaukee, there is always an expectation that the warranty will be good and the process to warranty Milwaukee Pry Bars will be easy.
Not only does Milwaukee warranty the pry bar set, they do so for life- no questions asked. Another cool thing about Milwaukee is it’s eService Repair option that gives buyers a way to fix or replace Milwaukee tools whether they are in warranty or not. So, similar to sending in a Snap-On tool for repair or rebuild, Milwaukee offers the same service but promises a 7-10 day turn around.
Are Milwaukee Pry Bars Worth Buying?
In my research I scoured the web for reviews on the Milwaukee pry bar set, watched a dozen YouTube videos and looked at comparisons between the specs of Milwaukee pry bars and the competitors. It’s easy to see through the crap when it comes to tool reviews and of course Milwaukee makes it pretty easy by consistently selling great tools.
So, I would say the Milwaukee pry bar set is worth buying instead of a Snap-On or other tool-truck brand. For the price, the warranty and the quality, Milwaukee’s pry bar set is a no-brainer.
